    Chocolate Cake Mix & Oreos

When purchasing the cake mix for this recipe, chose a triple chocolate cake mix. This shortcut mix has a rich chocolate cake mix, mini chocolate chips, and chocolate pudding. Adding oreo cookies with it just makes it even fudgier. If you can a limited edition flavored chocolate Oreo cookie would be awesome.

    Ingredients

Chocolate Cake Mix  – Triple Chocolate Cake Mix, is best.

Oreos – Use any Oreo cookie, original, flavored, or limited edition.

Milk – I used whole milk and a lot of it, you need that extra moisture so the oreos can soak up the milk and become soft and fudgy.

Eggs – Two eggs, less than what was required on the cake mix box.

Oil – Vegetable or neutral flavored oil, or you can also use melted butter (Yum).

    Step by Step Photos

Ingredients package of Oreos, mixing bowl of milk, package of chocolate cake, oil in white measuring cup, and two eggs.

    Remove Lid and Check Doneness

    7. After cooking time remove lid and check to see if the cake is done. Check with a toothpick, should have no raw batter. But it will be soft and fudgy.

    Top with Crushed Oreos

    8. Top with reserved crushed oreos. Cover and turn slow cooker or crockpot to keep warm for up to 4 hours.

    Enjoy

    9. When ready to serve, spoon into a small dish. Top with whipped cream or vanilla ice crea. Yum.

Slow Cooker or Crockpot Cake Mix Tips

The texture of this cake recipe is very soft to spoon your cake into individual serving dishes. It has more liquid and fewer eggs than you would normally put in a traditional box cake.

Tip #1 – Since this recipe creates more moisture, use paper towels under the lid to soak up that moisture during cooking.

Tip #2 – Crockpot or slow cooker cooking temps and times can vary. So keep an eye on your cake during cooking.

Tip #3 - Approximate times - High for 2 hours, Low for 4 hours, and keep warm for up to 4 hours. Enjoy.
