Strawberry Shortcake Crumble Topping

Strawberry crunch topping topping with jello, vanilla pudding , flour and butter. Copycat good humor ice cream bar crunchies recipe without Oreos.

Ingredients

Strawberry Crunch Topping

  • ¼ cup Softened Butter (Salted or Unsalted)
  • 1 3oz Strawberry Jello Gelatine Mix
  • ¼-1/2 cup All-purpose Flour (See notes for a crumbly texture)

Vanilla Crunch Topping

  • ¼ cup Softened Butter (Salted or Unsalted)
  • 1 3oz Vanilla Pudding Mix
  • ¼-1/2 cup All-purpose Flour (See notes for a crumbly texture)
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Grab 2 mixing bowls.
    For the strawberry crumble bowl place the gelatin mix, flour, and butter.
    For the vanilla crumble bowl place the pudding mix, flour, and butter. Optional almond extract.
  • With a fork mix well. Cutting the butter into the dry mixture to form crumbs.
  • Add both mixtures to the prepared sheet pan. Press to form an even thin layer.
  • Place into the oven and bake for 6-8 minutes. Try not to over bake.
  • Remove from the oven and let fully cool.

Soft & Chewy Version (¼ Cup Flour In Each Bowl)

  • Place into the freezer for about 1 hour.
  • Remove from the freezer and break each flavor into pieces.
  • Place the flavors separately into a food processor and pulse until small crumbs form.
  • Mix each flavor together into a bowl, its ready to enjoy.

Crumbly Version (½ Cup Flour In Each Bowl)

  • After it has fully cooled. It can be crumbled with your fingers or broken into large pieces and place into a gallon plastic zip bag.
  • With a rolling pin, pound until crumbled to your preference. It's ready to enjoy.

Notes

If you want a soft and chewy texture use ¼ cup of flour in each bowl and for crumbly texture use a ½ cup of flour to each mixture. More flour will make it less soft and chewy and more crunchy and crumbly.
