    How to make plain bread taste better? 

    Add your favorite spices, herbs, and flavors to a basic bread recipe to improve the taste. During the fall and winter add warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg to an artisan raisin loaf. Making cornbread for dinner add jalapenos and cheddar cheese.

    If you want to retain the color and flavor of fresh herbs, it’s best to add them toward the end of the cooking process. Make a fresh herb butter to spread or drizzle over the bread. If you want to bake with the fresh herbs, you absolutely can but the color depending on the herb will become darker or dull and the fresh flavor will change and be subtle.
