How to Make Green Bean Casserole on the Stovetop?

Grab your favorite skillet to sautee fresh green beans with cream of mushroom soup and top with French’s fried onions. This recipe makes a generous serving for two or side dish serving for four. The taste is close the classic French’s green bean casserole.

This “casserole” will free up oven space when making Thanksgiving dinner and you can control the texture of your green beans. Yum.

No stovetop? Use an electric skillet for this green bean casserole.

Ingredients

Green Beans - I used fresh string beans for this recipe. Substitute canned or frozen if you prefer.

Condensed Mushroom Soup- Use about a ½ a can.

Sour Cream - Helps to thicken up the soup really nicely. Substitute heavy cream if you prefer less sour.

Butter - I love salted butter, but unsalted would work perfectly

Fried Crispy Onions - The star of the show, I prefer French’s Fried Onions or jalepeno fried onions for a little kick.
