The first time I recipe tested this pimento cheese, I thought why have I been buying this? Homemade is so much better and oh so easy to make.

Grab a scoop right out of the deli container. Make a classic pimento cheese sandwich, serve with crackers, or use in recipes like this pimento cheese sausage balls.

Ingredients

Cheese- Sharp yellow cheddar and cream cheese.

Mayonnaise - Choose your favorite mayo brand like Hellman’s, Best Foods, Duke’s, or Kraft.

Pimento Peppers- Jarred and diced.

Onion- Fresh white onion, finely grated.

Spices- Onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper.

Tips & Techniques

Use high quality sharp yellow cheddar cheese block and finely grate it. This makes the perfect texture and blends in really well.

Make sure the cream cheese is really soft, prevents lumps when mixing.

Drain the jarred pimentos, less liquid the better.

Use a stand mixer with the paddle attachment for easy mixing.

Classic Pimento Cheese Sandwich

The most classic pimento cheese sandwich is so simple to make. Soft sliced white bread and smooth pimento cheese, cut in half.

Remove the crust, cut into small pieces and you have the perfect tea sandwiches. For parties, bridal, and bay showers.

Storage

Homemade pimento cheese should be stored in a deli container or airtight container for up a week in the refrigerator.

How To Make Pimento Cheese Step By Step

1. Prep the cheddar cheese, using the small side of a boxed or hand grater. You want small shreds.
