How To Make No Peek Chicken and Rice
In a 9x13 baking dish we are mixing the creamy condensed chicken soup with white rice, then topping it with juicy chicken thighs and savory onion flavor. Oven baked until brown and bubbly. Remember no peeking !!
Why is this recipe so popular on TikTok? It’s one of those chicken and rice dishes that is quick to put together, literally right in the baking dish. It can be made any day of the week and pretty affordable with lots of leftovers.
Ingredients and Substitutions
Rice - I chose to use Instant rice, but any rice would be delicious. Long grain, Jasmine, white, brown or wild rice, you will have to adjust the cooking time.
Chicken - Boneless things, tenders, or breasts will work. Cut them in chucks or slices. Season them to your preference.
Condensed Soup - Any brand will do, I chose the Campbell’s. Cream of chicken great flavor but you can substitute cream of mushroom, cream of celery or condensed cheddar cheese soup. Yum.
Onion Soup Mix - I prefer the classic Lipton Onion Soup Mix, but any brand would be delicious. There are even different flavors like beefy onion and onion mushroom.
Broth - Chicken or vegetable flavored. You can used canned, carton, or bouillon, low sodium is best. I’ve made this without broth as well and just used water.
Tips & Suggestions
Preheat the oven first to get dinner on the table quicker. It’s so quick to put the together it’ll be ready when you are.
For extra crunch top with crispy onions or jalapeños.
Add aromatics like, chopped sweet peppers, onion, or garlic to the creamy rice mixture.
Don’t forget to set your timer to an hour. If you are using brown or wild rice it will be a bit longer. For a firmer rice texture check the bake around 50 minutes.
If you prefer to use a rice mix like Knorr Chicken Rice Sides or Uncle Benn’s, use two of the 6-7oz packages. Substitute the broth for water and use about ½ the packet of the onion soup mix, to reduce the sodium.
What To Serve With No Peek Chicken
This is a great one pan meal with starch and a protein. Since the oven is going cook or roast vegetables like green beans, broccoli, mixed veggies or peas and carrots.
