    How to prep strawberries before dipping them into chocolate?

    Rinse the strawberries in a water and vinegar mixture. Dry them with paper towels and let them dry completely on parchment paper. Since water and chocolate do not mix well, very dry strawberries are best. 

    Chocolate Melting Tips

    The easiest and most convenient way to melt chocolate is in the microwave. You can start melting at about 30 seconds remove and mix. Intervals at 10-15 until fully melted and smooth is best for dipping. 

    Color White Chocolate with Food Coloring

    Less is more when it comes to coloring white chocolate. When using food coloring put a small drop at a time into the melted chocolate mixture. Mix well and then add more when needed.

    How to color chocolate pink with natural food coloring?

    To make pink chocolate covered strawberries with natural organic food coloring, use dehydrated finely ground beet powder.  Since we are using a powder not a liquid (do not add water to melted chocolate), you will notice specks of powder, almost like pink sprinkles throughout.

    Dipped Strawberries Using Candy Melts

    The easiest way to make pink strawberries is with candy melts. Candy melts cames in a variety of colors. Different shades of pinks from light to bright. You can also choose white and color it to your liking. 

    Melt the candy wafers in the microwave, dip the strawberry, and place on parchment paper to fully dry.

    Dip dry fresh strawberries into smooth melted chocolate or candy melts, then into the strawberry shortcake crunch crumbles, and let dry on parchment.

    Make Ahead & Storage Options

    Made ahead chocolate covered strawberries can be left out at room temperature for up to 24 hours wrapped in plastic wrap. 

    Leftover chocolate covered strawberries can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To absorb moisture place two sheets of paper towel dusted lightly with baking soda at the bottom of your storage container. Place a piece of parchment paper on the dusted paper towels, then place your chocolate strawberries on the parchment paper. Wrap the storage container with plastic wrap.

    Freeze leftover chocolate covered strawberries in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

    Easy Strawberry Crunch Covered Strawberries

    Easy pink covered strawberries, candy melts, white chocolate, and strawberry shortcake crunch crumbles. Can also use a natural red food coloring using beet powder. Perfect for Valentine's Day, parties, weddings, baby showers, or bridal showers.

    Equipment

    • Microwavable Bowls
    • Spoons
    • Parchment Paper
    • Paper Towel
    • Plate or Tray
    • Shallow bowl or small plate

    Ingredients

    • 8 Strawberries Fresh, Washed, and Towel Dried
    • ½-3/4 cup White Chocolate Chips or Chunks
    • 1 tsp Coconut oil

    Candy Melts

    • 6-8 oz Candy Melts Pink Candy Melts (No coloring required)

    Natural or No Artifical Coloring

    • ⅛- ¼ tsp Beet Powder (Less is more)

    Food Coloring

    • 2 drops Red Food Coloring

    Strawberry Shortcake Crunch

    • 1 ½ cups Strawberry Shortcake Crumbles Topping (Easy No Bake Recipe)

    Instructions

    • Place prepped fresh strawberries on tray or plate lined with parchment paper.
    • Melt white chocolate and coconut oil or candy melts in microwave. Microwave for about 30 seconds, remove and stir. Place back in microwave for 10 seconds intervals until smooth.

    Pink Candy Melts

    • If using pink candy melts, no coloring required unless you want it a deep or bright pink.

    Red Food Coloring

    • If using white candy melts or white chocolate, add one drop of red food coloring at a time. Mix well. Add another drop if needed,until you like the shade of pink.

    Beet Powder Coloring

    • If using white candy melts or white chocolate add the beet powder a little at a time. Mix well after each addition of powder. Add until you like the shade of pink.

    Dipping Strawberries with Chocolate Mixture Only

    • Make sure your chocolate or candy melt mixture is smooth, will make it easier to dip.
    • Dip your fresh strawberry into the chocolate mixture covering about ¾ of the berry. Allow the excess mixture to drip off. Place on parchment lined plate or tray. Sprinkle with fun toppings or sprinkles if you desire.
    • Allow to fully dry for about 15 minutes. You can drizzle with extra chocolate mixture or candy melts for an extra fancy design.
    • Serve Immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.

    • Make sure your chocolate or candy melt mixture is smooth, will make it easier to dip.
    • Dip your fresh strawberry into the chocolate mixture covering about ¾ of the berry. Allow the excess mixture to drip off. Wait about 15-20 seconds.
    • Dip into strawberry shortcake crunch topping, until fully coated. Place on parchment lined plate or tray. Allow to fully dry for about 15 minutes. Enjoy.
