Easiest Way To Melt Chocolate
The easiest and most convenient way to melt chocolate is in the microwave. You can start melting at about 30 seconds remove and mix. Intervals at 10-15 until fully melted and smooth is best for dipping.
Chocolate Options & Coloring
There are many options for “chocolate” to cover the strawberries, depending on your flavor preference or budget.

Coloring White Chocolate
Less is more when it comes to coloring white chocolate, candy melts, or almond bark. You’ll want to choose an oil based coloring, Wilton candy colors can be easily found in stores and online.
Do not use gel or water based coloring, the chocolate will seize up and become clumpy.
Add a small drop at a time into the melted chocolate mixture. Mix well and then add more when needed.
Using Pink Candy Melts
If you want to not color the white chocolate or almond bark, use pink candy melts. Candy melts comes in a variety of colors. Different shades of pinks from light to bright.
It’s so easy to just melt the candy melts or wafers in the microwave and dip. Follow the directions on the back of the package.
Natural Food Coloring Option
One option to color white chocolate with natural food coloring, is dehydrated finely ground beet powder.
Since we are using a powder not a liquid (do not add water to melted chocolate), you will notice specks of powder, almost like pink sprinkles throughout.
